I am Back!!

Well it has a very busy year or so around here.  So much has gone on since my last post.  I am now a mom to not only one boy but two boys now.  That's right, on April 19th, 2013 I became a mommy again to another precious little boy, Nathan.  He is just as sweet as his big brother!  People always ask (besides the obvious, "so when you trying for a girl?" answer: NEVER) "what's it like having two now?"  Most of the time I answer with "it's not as bad as I thought", but there are times when I answer "it is so crazy at times".  To me the crazy isn't a bad crazy, it's more of an interesting crazy where you have to learn to juggle one crying cause he is hungry and the other wanting you to play with him and his trains.  It is a good thing Noah is a patient child and adjusts VERY well to new things, for instance, he transitioned into his "big boy" bed without a hitch.  I am very lucky that way.
Having two boys is amazing.  Just thought I would throw that out there.  Because I only have a brother and am a girl, this is all new to me.  I don't know what it is like to have a same sex sibling nor have I really been around people that do.  I can not wait for the experience to see my two boys become friends and at the same time fight all the time lol.
Nathan is waking now, so this is a shorter post than expected :)

My Bucket List of Concerts

Tomorrow embarks on a new era for me! I will have seen EVERY concert I have ever wanted to see. Tomorrow night I will be at the Flo Rida concert (well actually it is Pitbull's concert featuring Flo Rida) but hey, Flo will be in the house!!!!
Ever since I saw my first NKOTB concert in grade 6 I have been hooked on concerts. There hasn't been a year since my first BSB (aka Backstreet Boys) concert (which if my memory serves me correct was 15 or so years ago) that i have not gone to a concert. Lately I have been going to up to two concerts a year (for the past 3 years). I love concerts, especially concerts that I absolutely LOVE the singer. Now that statement must sounds crazy but trust me it is not. My friend Alicia and I have been to lots of concerts where I don't like the singer at all but I go cause again, I LOVE CONCERTS! For instance, Alicia wanted to go see Britanny Spears (in my head i was urgh and eww) but I still went. Did she put on a good concert, hell NO, did I have a good time? YES!
Don't get me wrong I have been to TONS of concerts of artists who I LOVE, for example I have only missed 2 BSB concerts since i was 18 years old (that was because Jackie,my BSB concert going friend, was not on the continent, he he he) I have seen Montel Jordan way back in the day, Rihanna twice, NKOTB four times, and now last but not least, FLO RIDA!!!! If you know me at all you will know how much I love his music, lol. Even when we go to Phil's friends house, his friend plays Flo for me all night long, it's like he is my theme song, ha ha ha. I have dreamt of this day where he comes to Toronto! And I am lucky enough to get tickets!
I have no idea how I am going to sleep let alone get through tomorrow until 3:45 comes and I get to leave school :)
So tomorrow night I want you all to think of me in my "apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur" cause I will be getting "low, low low low"!!!!

It has been a long time

Wow, I feel like I haven't written anything in ages. I have been extremely busy and I have tons to write about. One of the best things that has happened is my best friend Heather is having her first baby!!! And we are soooo excited about this and June can't come soon enough :)
Noah is growing like a weed. He is walking and talking up a storm. Mind you they are only words mommy, grandma, nonna and daddy can understand but hey, we know exactly what he is talking about.
Hmmm, what else is new on my end? I have been spending a lot of time with Jackie while she is at home for a bit. It is so nice to spend time together, I really miss her a lot (as she already knows) when she is out of the country!
We started a walking club that gets together every sunday morning for an hour to walk. It is going very well.
Other than that as usual I can't think of any more to write about at the moment, and I know you don't want to hear just about Noah cause you know I could talk/write about him all night long :)
As usual this blog is all over the map, but it represents what my brain goes through on a daily basis, ha ha ha!
In closing, this Christmas will be Noah's second, but first real one where he is mobile and aware of what is going on. We can't wait to see him with all his new toys and around his family!
So on behave of my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A Weekend of Celebration

September 30th marked a milestone in our lives, our baby turned 1 years old and my baby brother turned 30 (also it was my Aunt and Sister-in Law's birthday). We had a lot of celebrating to do over the weekend and ate a lot of cake.
Since my brother turned the big dirty thirty I decided to throw him a surprise birthday dinner with all his friends. He had no idea right up until they yelled surprise. I thought it would be nice to separate his special day with Noah's special day considering both celebrated a milestone.
I just wanted to share how special Noah is to us and wish him a very happy 1st birthday :) We love him so much (you know the song by Brandi "Have you Ever" where she sings about loving someone so much it makes you cry? that is how Noah makes me feel lol)
I had so much I wanted to write about regarding Noah's first birthday but as I sit here in front of the computer, I have lost it, grrrr, i hate when that happens!
I do though want to thank all those who came and made Noah's day special and those who sent Birthday Wishes his way :)

First Day of School

I had to go back to work after 18 months off. For those of you who know Noah, knows that he is only 11 months old, but as a school teacher, it is only right to start the year off right and at the beginning (in my opinion).
I had a good week back at work, but I missed Noah like crazy :) I don't know how Phil leaves every day for work and only gets to see us at 5:30pm. Leaving Noah isn't bad at all only because I know my mom is with him and he loves it there.
Noah has been doing soooooo much these days, for example, today while playing together, he stood up from the floor without holding on to anything. He is being very brave and letting go of tables and his "mountains" (me and grandpa). He is really trying hard to talk and form words as well. Phil and I have been wondering what the heck he is saying when he says "baboo" all night long. We figured it out though :) Every night we go upstairs for a bath and he points to the collage of pictures i have of him and our families and I have to name every single person. So one night he kept pointing to himself and saying "baboo, baboo". Now we put two and two together and because in the pictures he is only 4 months old, when I name him I always say, "yes that is baby noah" Long story short, "baboo" is means Baby Noah (ha ha ha). Anyways, Noah is growing up quick and fast.
Stay tuned for more adventures :)

NKOTBSB...OMG!!

Well in case you haven't heard or read on facebook or twitter, last night my friend Jenn and I went to see NKOTBSB at Copps in Hamilton. It was my second concert of the summer (I honestly can't tell you which one was better, Rihanna or NKOTBSB cause they are both AWESOME). The night started off with a sushi dinner out and a chance to catch up with Jenn with no babies around and we could actually sit down and talk about adult things.
So we got to Copps and we were trying to find our seats. I kept getting more and more excited when our section was getting closer and closer to the stage. When we finally got to section 122, we then tried to find row 4. Now i figured row 4 was great, but when we got there row 4 was actually row 2, it went from great to AMAZING! The other two rows were missing because of the Bulldogs players bench (hockey arena, right?) So we were count it, 2 rows away from the floor.
So by this point i am shaking in my seat with excitement. So the first opening act was a band i have never heard of so i wasn't much into it, then Matt Morrison (from GLEE) performed and surprisingly he is really good and i might go out and buy his CD.
Finally once he was done we did not wait long at all for NKOTBSB.
Right from the beginning Jenn and I sang our little hearts out. Danced our sushi dinner off. We were so close to the stage that we did not have to look at the Jumbotron to see them. We were so close that I could see Jonathon's red and black zebra print underwear. During the performance Jenn and I looked at eachother when security came and placed a black box right below us. Eventually we saw why. The New Kid's came out into the audience. DANNY WOOD WAS RIGHT BESIDE US!!!! (now I would have much rather have had Jordan or I'd even settle for Joey or Donny to be in our section ,but beggars can't be choosers, ha ha ha).
So the concert went on and we still sang and danced.
The concert ended around 11:15pm. We left the building. Now picture this, Jenn and I go outside and there are a bunch of girls waiting around and lots of police tape. So we decided to stop and see what the fuss was. Well, let me tell you, Jenn and I squeezed our way to the front of the tape and right at AJ's bus. We waited and eventually Nick came out and then 10 mins later, Howie, then 10 mins after that Brian. There was a rumor floating around that AJ was already on the bus but to me it didn't make sense cause he was the last off the stage so how can he be the first on his bus? Well to my dismay (and pleasant surprise) AJ opened up his blinds on the bus and waved to us. Now i don't know if any of you know this but AJ is my favourite BSB of all time, ha ha ha. He waved to me! However, I was disappointed he did not come out of his bus to say hello to his fellow fans, but rumor was Howie was outside taking pictures and autographing. So Jenn and I of course walked down there to see what would happen. I weaseled my way up once again and only waited 3 mins to get my picture taken with HOWIE!!! All i did was say, "can i get a picture?" and he was "sure" So he put his arm around me, we took a pic, then he rubbed my back, gave it a pat and we said our goodbyes. I have waited 18 years to meet a Backstreet Boy. It didn't matter which one, I just wanted to meet someone from one of the boybands I grew up listening to (and still to this day listen to on my ipod).
Needless to say I had an amazing time at the concert and let me tell you, it won't be a night I will soon forget! I can't wait to tell Noah when he is old enough how his mother met a Backstreet Boy!!

Off to Grandma's House

Recently my grandmother moved into a retirement home. Now her house is sold. While driving to one of our many parties this weekend I was thinking about all the memories not only I have had there, but my mom who lived in that house her entire life.
I will always remember going to grandmas's house every wednesday after school on the bus (i left quite a few library books on those bus rides), or sleeping over on tuesday nights in the summer time. We used to walk to the Mall and meet my cousin for lunch, walk (or take the bus) to his house and I would help him do his paper route. My payment? Ice cream at Jumbos (I think that's what it was called before Easterbrookes).
We (my brother and I) would go to the "store across the street" as we'd call it, and get our share of 5 cent candies. And some time we'd get candy for free because the owners got to know us over the many many years! That house has seen a million people go in and out it through out the 50 something years my grandmother has had it. I think just about every cousin of my mom's lived there at one point of her life. The house was NEVER empty. We used to roast hot dogs and marshmallows on an old school bbq (you know the one that was small and had a grill and no propane?). I have a scar on my arm from a spark that came out and bit me :)
I am not the type of person to show my true feelings, but I am sad this part of my life is gone. As Phil always says, "it's just bricks and four walls, it's the memories inside that are important". It's sad that the house will be gone soon, but Phil is right (shhhh don't EVER tell him I said that, ha ha ha) I will always have the memories.
Grandma's house, you will always be remembered and never forgotten :(

Busy Girl

Wow, sorry guys, it has been awhile since I last posted anything on this blog. I was busy getting things done for Heather's wedding, like pedicure, eyebrows waxed, etc. Her wedding was on Saturday (may 28th) It was great! Great food, great family and great entertainment. A very tiring day. but well worth it.
What else have I been up to? Nothing much. Patiently waiting for someone to call back to fix our pool. Nothing major, just a leak in one part of the pipes. It will be fixed in one day, phew, thank goodness cause it is freakin' hot out there right now.
Noah is getting so big and maturing way too fast for my liking, lol. But that is good. I think he is getting some teeth cause he is very clinging and crabby as heck. We got to the dr. tonight so hopefully he will be "yes there are teeth right there that just need to pop through".
Oh Rihanna is next week. So excited for that! I can't wait of course being my fav. singer and all!!! jackie, i am telling you, you should have come lol!!
Other than that I really having nothing much to write, but didn't want my readers/fans (lol) to loose interest.
Enjoy the weather everyone!!

And the Adventures Continue!

Today Noah and I went to Toronto to meet Heather for lunch. Everyone was so polite on the train (except two ladies who wouldn't get off their seats in the "accessible" car of the train and head upstairs to where there were more seats for them). When we got to Toronto, I was shocked at how many people offered to help me without me even asking. It's so reassuring that there are still some good people out there.
We finally met up with Heather and went to a Greek place to eat. All the waiters and host and maybe the owner (I think he was) came up to us and said "what a well behaved baby you have". It's funny. Every where I go I always get comments about how good Noah is. I shouldn't be surprised, lol. I don't mean that in a conceded way. Every one was shocked that I could get through a meal without having to entertain Noah (that's what Auntie's are for, lol). But he was just happy being in his stroller looking around at everything.
We departed and left Heather at work. Noah was passed out with in two mins. lol. Flirting with Auntie Heather did him in. It's tiring stuff!! regardless a fun day was had by all!! And we can't wait to do it again at the end of the Month with Melissa and her little one, Leah!!

New Topic: Noah hasn't been sleeping very well through the night any more (he used to sleep 12 hours up until two weeks ago). Now I am up at least once some times 4 times a night with him. He's not crying or anything. He just is wide awake and wants to play. While trying to get him back to sleep I feel frustrated and very tired. However, when I wake up in the morning and walk into his room he ALWAYS has the biggest smile on his face. All those feelings of frustration and tiredness completely disappear. (until the next night, lol). I have been reading up on this "all of a sudden wakening in the middle of the night" and it seems to be Noah is going through a growth spurt (he's at that growth spurt age) and his mind is so full of new things he wants to do and practice and he just can't seem to shut off his mind. Once he has mastered what he is working on, he should go back to sleeping again. The minds of little one's are so fascinating at times.
Hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight :)

The love of OUR life!

Every day is a new day it seems with Noah. He is growing up so fast (almost time for another baby, lol, just kidding, not yet anyways). We started mommy and baby bootcamp. He did not like that one bit. I think it was because he was too hot. The babies just played on the floor and watched us mommy's work out. I guess I would cry at that too!!
Sunday was his baptism. It was an experience for the both of us. I have only ever been to one baptism in my life and me myself not being baptized I had no idea what to expect or do. Noah was great through the whole thing. It actually brought a bit of tears in my eyes to watch my baby be baptized. A lot has gone on in the past couple weeks on the home front and miracles happened and it was nice to be in church and know there is a higher power watching over us. Whether it be angels or a lord. Noah slept through most of his day. Right up until the Deacon poured the water on his head. For those that don't know a Deacon is a Priest but he is married and allowed to have children. However, he had to be married first before becoming ordained into the church. If his wife were to pass away, he could no longer get married and then he would be able to become a Priest after doing the necessary actions. Overall a great day for Noah.
Mommy loves him so very much!!!!

A busy year to come!

Well it's been a crazy past couple of weeks. Noah was sick for two weeks (had a cold and finally it went away). Other than that we have just been busy doing stuff around the house and stuff. We started Pilate's with our friends Jenn and Luka. The babies slept, lol. Us mom's had a great workout. Next month the four of us start baby boot camp. That should be fun!! I am really looking forward to that. I can't believe how much I missed working out the past year. I know nuts eh, i didn't work out for a year!!!
This thursday Jenn and I are attending a workshop/class by Nanny Robina (you've seen her on the Mom show or City Line every wed). She is holding a sleep class to teach us the trick of the trade on how to get our babies to sleep more at night and let me tell you it couldn't come at a better time. For some reason Noah will sleep one night for 5 or 6 hours and then hardly at all the next night. Last night it was like i had a newborn again, not even cause even when he was a newborn he slept better than last night. He gets in the habit of wanting to "play" and laugh when mommy comes into his room. The other evening Phil was holding him and he was crying and crying. Finally I came downstairs and took him from Phil and right away he stopped crying and literally laughed his head off at the whole thing. I tell you, this kid is smart.
Jack-we can't wait for you to get home so you can see how much Noah has changed and grown up since you saw him at the wee ol' age of 2 weeks.
This post is all over the place, but to tell you the truth, that's how my mind works these days. Don't worry Jack, I still have the memory of an elephant, lol. Just lots of thoughts going on these days. Check back soon, Noah gets Baptized in Feb.

Merry First Christmas Noah!

Our first Christmas as a family was a great but busy one. On Christmas day my mom's family all came over (all 18 of us). We opened gifts, played our gift game where you steal and ate lots of food. Noah was a little fussy cause I think I over dressed him, opps. First time mom mistake. Then on Boxing Day we went out for lunch with my dad's family and came back to our house for dessert and the gift game. Noah was as good as gold. No over dressing for him that day.
Then it was Phil's birthday on the 28th. My family came over for dinner and cake. You are probably wondering where his family was since it was PHIL'S birthday. We celebrate his niece, brother and his birthdays all in Jan. So we will be doing that later on. It was a very busy holiday season. To top it off my poor baby boy is sick. He has a cold. He seems to be getting over it pretty fast. It was funny (i can laugh now at it but at the time it happened i wasn't too happy, lol), he kept waking up every 1/2 hour to be held and cuddled cause he wasn't feeling well. So finally at 5:30am he got up to eat. Instead of going back to bed he decided he wanted to laugh his head off at me and talk up a storm. He was so loud that he woke Phil up who was sleeping upstairs. And let me tell you, Phil is a SOUND sleeper, lol. I was "Noah, now is not the time". lol. It was too cute. I just have to keep an eye on him that he doesn't get a fever. Other than that that is about all that is new here. We hope everyone had a great holiday season and a happy new year! We are doing nothing!!! Enjoying it as a family.

Baby's First Needles

Last night Noah had to go to the dr. for his first set of needles (immunizations). Everything was going smoothly. He was getting weighed in (a whopping 12 lbs, 1 oz, he's my little piggy boy) and is 22.5 inches long. He gained 2.5 lbs and grew an inch since last time which was a month ago. The dr. poked and proded him and then it was time. He went to get the dreaded needles. I was totally fine with it. Phil who hates needles left.
Noah of course cried both pricks. Then I picked him up when all was said and done. He wimpered for a bit. Then we went to check if grandpa was at the dr. yet. Grandpa put the poor little guy to sleep. It was so cute.
When we got home, Noah was fine. Just a little clingy and wanted to be held all the time. I went off to bed and left Phil and Noah downstairs.
I fell asleep but then all of a sudden was awoken by Noah screaming/crying at the top of his lungs. It was a cry I had never heard before. After a while I went downstairs to see if I could help. Phil said he was sleeping in his swing when all of a sudden he was turning his head side to side and started screaming. Poor little guy. We have no idea what was the matter with him. We think he was dreaming or it was an after effect of the needle? Any suggestions or ideas about what was wrong? I had to change his diaper and he freaked out and was shaking, that's how bad he was crying/screaming. Then the little guy fell asleep in my arms. I went back to bed and he was fine for the rest of the night. He usually eats every 3 hours on the button with occasionally waiting 4 or 5 hours once a day. Last night he went from 10pm until 4am without waking up or eating (minus his little freak out at 11pm). Of course you would think I slept cause he didn't wake up for his 2:30am feeding, but I didn't cause I kept wondering "when is he going to eat". Maybe (fingers crossed) this is a sign he will go longer at night without eating.

Today my little guy is happy as anything (his normal self again). Last night wasn't too bad but I don't like having to go through it every two months for his needles. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Baby's First Christmas

Noah is now 9 weeks old, almost 10. Shortly he will experiance his first Christmas. Everyone is very excited for this! We took a picture the other day of him to send out as our Christmas card. First time we are doing this, lol.
Noah is growing more and more every day. He is so much more aware of his surroundings and loves to smile. We play all day long in between naps. He is mommy's happy little baby.
Phil and I went out for the first time (besides leaving him with my mom to go shopping) without him on saturday. My cousin had a 30th birthday party. Phil's brother and sister-in-law came to babysit. I was sooooo worried all week long that he was going to be a good boy for them. As far as I know he was.
I can't wait until Christmas. I know he isn't old enough to understand, but it is still very exciting. We still have to go visit Santa. I should do it very soon.
On a side note, Noah will be going into his crib very soon. He is getting too big for the basinette. I'm a little nervous/anxious about it but will get over it as I know he has to do it sooner than later.

6 Weeks Old today!

Baby Noah is 6 weeks old today. So far so good (knocking on wood). He is growing so fast. Sometimes it feels like he's been on this earth for ever, not just 6 weeks. And I must say he gets cuter and cuter as each day passes.
What do we do to pass our days? Lately since the weather has been nice we go for walks. He loves his walks and being out doors. Lets hope this continues into his toddler and preschool years.
I think back to when we were kids. We played hockey and basketball all night long (or at least until the street lights came on lol). I hope Noah gets to experience the same as Tom and I. Some of our fondest memories are going to fall fairs, playing sports, going to the zoo, etc.
I only hope Noah and his future siblings enjoy their childhood as much as we did.

Life with a newborn

It's an adjustment that's for sure. Noah has been a good baby so far. He sure lets you know what he wants. He is getting so big and he is only 3.5 weeks old. He eats ALL the time, lol. Takes after his daddy. We've had some good nights and some not so good nights. The not so good nights are only because he decides to stay awake and not sleep. He only cries at night when he is hungry, which I can handle and at least he doesn't cry for the sake of crying. You know what I mean? This is a short blog cause all Noah does is eat, sleep and poo. Not in that order per se. ha ha ha.

Introducing Noah Thomas

After a long grueling 9 months, Noah Thomas finally made his apperance on Sept. 30th, 2010 at 23:23pm. He was born one week early and had no intenstions on leaving his warm home. I was induced due to blood pressure. However, I knew that when I got to the hospital that morning, my blood pressure would be normal. Sure enough, it was normal. biggest fear? being sent home to wait it out. Thankfully they went ahead with the induction.
My day began at 6:30am that day as i had to get ready and then call the hospital to see if they were ready for me. After I got off the phone with them, someone rang the door bell, at 6:50am. Phil and I were "who the hell is that at this hour?" ha ha ha. He thought it was Tom, I thought it was the police. I opened the door, to Jackie standing there. My first intital thought, "aren't you in Thailand?" I was utterally shocked I didn't know what to say or do. I was "what are you doing here, shouldn't you be in Thailand"? Jack, "no you are having a baby today". WOW!! Now if that's not friendship, I don't know what is. Everyone asked Jack if she was here for any other reason and she answered, "nope, just here for the baby's birth". WOW! I am so appreciative of her and her surprising me and wanting to be here for us and for our new son, Noah. I will definately make sure he is reminded all the time about the day Aunt Jackie came all the way across the world just for him. He (and me) are very lucky to have someone like that in our lives. Thanks soooo very much Jackie. We will never forget what you did for us.
The birth part was hectic. I laboured for 8 hours, got to 10cm, pushed for 1.5 hours and Noah decided he wouldn't fit, so off to the OR I went to have a c-section. Which I might add I would take over labour any day. The recovery from that wasn't that bad for me. The nurses even kept coming in trying to give me pain meds but i was "i don't feel any pain".
It was a very interesting day that's for sure. But I am soooo happy I finally got to meet my baby boy and am very happy. Phil has been great throught the whole thing also. He comes home and holds Noah until they go to bed. The love in his eyes towards his son is heart melting. He already has told me he wants another. lol. Keep viewing/reading for updates on Noah and how we are getting along with life with baby.
Again, Thanks jack for being here for us. We hate to see you go! Hurry home soon.

4 more weeks, I'm done right now lol

Well went to the dr. today. I have 4 more weeks to go which means i will be seeing dr every week. my dr does surgeries on thurs so when i saw him today i told him "i'll be seeing you tomorrow" at first he didn't get my joke and was "oh ya, ok" then when i said "do you have any openings for tomorrow?" he got it. lol. Then when i left i told him "don't forget, i'll see you tomorrow, oh ok, maybe next thurs" and he said "you want the lungs to develop a little bit more" then he said "be careful what you wish for" regarding wanting a c-section. I am so done being pregnant. To be honest, i haven't even had a bad pregnancy. No unusal pains but i hate having all these pains between the legs and lower abs. Yes I know that doesn't make sense but I'm saying I have had any complications (knock on wood). It's just so uncomfortable. It's more nerve racking being pregnant than anything. You worry about EVERYTHING when pregnant. Any time you go to the bathroom and check the toilet paper, you pray and wish for no spotting. then when time gets closer to your due date you worry about your water breaking and how you will know. My aunt said, "your underware will be wet" to which I answered "my underware is always wet" ha ha ha. I told my dr. about this wet problem and he says "it's normal" cause every time i tell him something he goes, "that's normal" ha ha ha. ok.
Phil is going to be a mess these next 4 or so weeks. I lost part of my plug (Jack, that is the plug that plugs your cervix and when it expells from you, you can have baby in 24 hours or 4 weeks from now). Told the dr about the plug thing, "that's normal". ok, just wanted to let you know lol. I also told him about some other stuff that i won't go into cause it's gross ha ha ha. And he said "your cervix is starting to open". YES!!!!!!!!!! Next visit i'm sure he'll look to see how much it has opened. It's so cool how my dr. grabs the head with both hands. I wonder how big he is. This time his head is "engaged" into my pelvis which is great news. It means he is ready. In other terms, the baby has "dropped".
We've decided on a name. Noah. Now for the middle name. We can't agree on that. Quelle surpirse. I think I better start packing so I'm ready to go.
